Easy one-pan kafta inspired by classic Egyptian home cooking and Middle Eastern restaurant flavors, made with ground beef, Italian sausage, onion, parsley, and warm spices.
Ingredients
1lb ground beef
½ lb ground Italian sausage
1small onion, finely diced
¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
1tsp 1½ 7-spice seasoning
Salt & black pepper, to taste
1tbsp 1–2 olive oil
Parchment paper
Optional: sliced onions or tomatoes for roasting
Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and lightly grease with olive oil.

Place diced onion in a strainer and squeeze out excess liquid.

In a bowl, combine beef, Italian sausage, onion, parsley, 7-spice, salt, and pepper. Mix just until combined.

Transfer mixture onto prepared pan and flatten into an even layer.

Use a spatula to lightly mark individual kafta portions without cutting through.

Arrange sliced onions or tomatoes along the sides if using.

Bake for 18–20 minutes until cooked through.

Switch oven to broil and broil 2–3 minutes until golden on top.
